and you can discover one of the most photographed areas of the Flinders
Ranges, renowned for it's fossil formations and various geological periods.

Recently restored and opened for the public these mines are an important
part of the European heritage of the Flinders Ranges.

Bridle Gap pass located
just 15km from Merna Mora forms part of the Heysen Trail and links the
Moralana Gorge with Wilpena Pound. |
Climate
The climate at Merna
Mora varies from hot and mostly dry summers to warm sunny days and cool
crisp nights in winter. Rainfall is intermittent and general rains usually
fall in the May to August period with some thunderstorms experienced in
summer. The average annual rainfall is about 7 inches or 175mm.
